One of the founding members of the International Commercial Law Alliance (ICLA), iLaw, is delighted to announce that IPO Pang XINGPU has joined the global group – adding to its recent expansion in Asia.

Shanghai-based IPO Pang XINGPU has had a strong presence across China since the early 1990s and is a boutique law firm that is well recognised as one of the oldest joint venture practices in the country.

It hopes to employ its highly experienced and highly motivated team to assist fellow ICLA members so that their clients can enter new markets in South East Asia by calling on their local expertise.

Peter Pang, Chairman and Managing Partner of IPO PANG XINGPU LAW FIRM, is very pleased to participate as a member of ICLA.

He said: “With Chinese clients anxious for access to other markets, and the continuing opportunity that China offers to businesses as the factory capital of the world, an international alliance where we can provide a one stop professional service depot for clients is an essential element of doing business with the world’s second largest economy.

“We are impressed with both the qualifications of the members of the alliance as well as the expertise they bring. It is a global economy and connecting with professionals from other regions and working as a connected team is the reason we decided to join.”

The latest partnership builds on ICLA’s existing presence in Asia following its addition of Siam City Law to the alliance at the end of 2018. This firm has offices in Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia.

Mark Culbert, Managing Director at London-based member firm iLaw, said: “We are very excited that IPO Pang XINGPU has decided to join ICLA, as it offers clients access to dedicated legal advice in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

“The level of local knowledge that the firm can offer, and its expertise in certain areas, such as joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, competition law and a number of other crucial areas, will play a key role in building the profile of ICLA across the globe.

“We look forward to working with Peter Pang and his team on various matters in future.”

ICLA is a strategic group of law firms from around the world, which enables its members to access legal expertise in more than 22 jurisdictions.

ICLA law firms are all leaders in their own fields, but share the same goals and values, namely to provide their clients with first-class legal advice and to deliver excellent value.
